Workforce: Estimated hours need to be trued-up for Feb 2008

It's that time again to review and update estimated hours for the current month and validate/update estimates for future months.

You will not be able to change the hour’s estimates for February after Saturday 03/01.
  • Please take a moment to complete a final review of your SRs, adjusting estimates appropriately per the applied hours
  • If there is a significant variance between current month applied hours and your estimate, please update appropriately
  • Keep in mind that hours reported in SRp are only through WE 02/23/08; you will need to take into account any hours worked in the current week; these hours will be applied next week and become part of the total hours applied for Feb 2008, so include them when you are adjusted estimates to actual.
  • Move any residual hours into the next month, if appropriate. BR requests estimates as far into the future as can be reasonably estimated.
  • BR will be monitoring to determine the ability of BG to accurately project work effort and manage Service Requests.
Please don't hesitate to contact PMO-admin if you have questions or require any assistance updating your estimated hours.

US ELECTION 2008: Democrats Bring in $80 Million, With Obama in Lead: Senators Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton both had a record-breaking month of fundraising in February, bringing in more than $80 million combined, but with Mr. Obama again raising significantly more than his opponent. Mr. Obama’s campaign did not release an official estimate of its February fundraising on Thursday. But several major donors estimated it is about $50 million based on their calculations and knowledge of tallies during the month, when on many days the campaign took in as much as $2 million.
The unprecedented sum is sure to make it that much harder for Mr. Obama to agree to accept public financing for the general election and abide by the spending limits that come with it, something he indicated last year he would do if the Republican nominee also signed up for the campaign finance program. Senator
John McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee, has recently hammered Mr. Obama for wavering on the issue. Obama campaign officials said they are still tabulating their final numbers and would only say that their total was “considerably more” than the $35 million that Senator Clinton’s campaign announced Thursday it had raised in February.
“It’s a leap year,” said Bill Burton, a campaign spokesman. “There’s one more day.”

MALAYSIA ELECTION 2008: CANDIDATES GOING ALL OUT WITH SEVEN DAYS LEFT - KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 29 (Bernama) -- After pacing themselves the past five days, election candidates begun their big push today, hitting states with weekend holidays as fear of flood looms in Kelantan. With just seven days left before the March 8 general election, the momentum is getting fast and furious in the 214 parliamentary and 501 state seats contested amid overcast skies and rain in several states. Political party leaders defending their respective constituencies continued to help fellow comrades, with particular focus on hot seats, especially in Kedah, Kelantan and Penang. Barisan Nasional leaders, led by its chairman and prime minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badaw, and his deputy, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, went for the assault in the east coast. Abdullah flew from his home base in Penang to officiate the ground breaking ceremony for Universiti Malaysia Kelantan campus in Tangok, Bachok, another sign of the federal government''s commitment to develop the state.

  1. Note on Utilization: The internet circuit out of the KL site is currently heavily utilized. Whenever the internet utilization exceeds the bandwidth capacity of the internet circuits we will experience disruptions to the internet service. This will affect users who are only able to access their environment via their VPN client. All VPN traffic out of the KL site is routed via the internet link. The internet link also functions as a backup in the event there is an outage on the corporate links. The internet circuit serves as a secondary path for the KL users to access their work environment via VPN. If you are currently able to reach your work environment directly from the KL LAN segment (via BGNET) please do not initiate the VPN connectivity. If you do not have access to your work environment directly from the KL LAN, please provide PMO-admin with the host(s) and the location of this host(s) you require. Whenever possible, connectivity via BGNET will be provided.
