Hijrah: Cross The Border! There’s No Other Choice

Hijrah literally the migration is the emigration of the Prophet SAW from Mecca to Yathrib; later called Medinat an-Nabi, the City of the Prophet or Medina. Prophet Muhammad SAW who had been preaching Islam in Mecca for the last 13 years had been facing greater persecutions from the people in Mecca especially with the death of his protector uncle, Abu Talib, to the point that his life was in danger, had no choice but to leave Mecca. He was offered nexus sanctuary -- Some say it's Heaven -- by the people of Medina, who had pledged loyalty to him called the pledge of Aqabah.

So, Hijrah means forced migration from one place to a better place, from one state of mind to a better state, from one character to a better character. It means forced movement to any improvement to continuously cleanse one's heart to be cleaner, purer and to understand deeper about the religion. This is the hijrah that Muslims look for:

The vanguard - the first of those who forsook (their homes) and of those who gave them aid, and (also) those who follow them in (all) good deeds, - well-pleased is Allah with them, as are they with Him: for them hath He prepared gardens under which rivers flow, to dwell therein for ever: that is the supreme felicity. [9: at-tawbah:100]

Muslims are flexible, reliable, responsive, and have integrity.

We must have hope that Allah SWT will help His believers and remove the tyrannical rulers that are the descendants of Fir’awn and return the rule of Islam again, through the Caliphate office, to the lands of all the anbiya, rasol, and awliya’ that walked the earth.

May Allah force us to be the forces of this change.
