PETALING JAYA: A no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi may materialise on Monday after all.
DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang said the Government motion on price increases scheduled for Monday can be turned into a no-confidence motion, provided there were enough numbers to defeat it.
Lim, who is also Ipoh Timur MP, said it was not necessary to have a proper motion of no-confidence to create a “no-confidence” vote in Parliament on the Prime Minister and the Government.
He said he was informed that the motion, to be moved by Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Shahrir Abdul Samad, was the first item on the list after the 90-minute question time.
The motion is to seek support for the measures taken by the Government over price increases. – thestart
